Middleton

The town formerly known as Gray, located three miles south of the Kansas border on the southwest corner of the Indian School reserve. It became a town when the railroad established a stop there. When Middleton Stock Yards were built the next year it became a cattle shipping point. The town was platted and a small business district developed, consisting of stores, a lumber yard, a restaurant, blacksmith shop, and a hotel. The town held on for two decades, but never grew to be large. Southwest of Chilocco GNIS Site L-365721N LO-0970651W
