The following list is of Post Office, Schools and place names located
in Kildare Township, Kay County, Oklahoma. Although every effort has been
made to correctly identify and describe all listings on the following
maps, errors can occur; sources can have conflicting information. Sources
include Chronicles of Oklahoma [OHS], Rooted in the Past Growing for the
Future [NCOH], Oklahoma Department of Transportation Maps, court documents
of incorporation, Oklahoma Atlas’ and Gazetteers and Kay County
Newspapers.
Cherokee

Fairview
Located in Kildare Township. Suggested that is was also called Beaver
*Kildare [PO]
September 16 1893 Kildare sprang up. A Post Office was established Oct
14, 1893.
Before the Cherokee Outlet Opening, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
Railway had built a section house, a tool house, an agent's cottage, and
a depot near the future town's site. Water was always a problem and had
to be hauled from Willow Springs. According to the county records Kildare’s
incorporation date was April 21, 1902, population 218. Three fires devastated
the business area and each time fewer rebuilt. Consisted of a church,

Willow Springs
½ mi N of Kildare. A Post Office was said established, but no information.
Population at one time over 400. On the 1895 map of Kay County appears
to be South of Kildare
Schools once located in the township were Banner-35, Kildare-50, Liberty-49*
and Pioneer-34.
