Vina Pearl Wilson OWASSO — Vina Pearl Wilson, local resident of Owasso, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, in Owasso at the age of 86 years. She was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Cushing, to Keith Arnold and Sadie Jane Fields Matlock. She was married Oct. 14, 1939, in Cushing to Albert Frank Wilson. She was reared and educated in Oklahoma. She spent most of her working life as a clerk for Allbright Title and Trust in Newkirk. She was a longtime faithful member of the First Nazarene Church in Ponca City. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including sewing and spending time with her family. Loving family members include six children, Harold Wilson of Ponca City, Keith Wilson and wife Nyla of Woodward, Jane Hess and husband Ben of Owasso, Bonnie Gamsjager and husband David of Yukon, Barbara Eslinger and husband Darold of Thornton, Colo., and Roy Wilson and wife Pat of Sand Springs; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters, Nellie Rice of Kalamazoo, Mich., Ed Matlock of Mesa, Ariz., Bill Matlock of Plainwell, Mich., and Ken Matlock, Christine Wallace, Velma Chisholm, Delma Tipken and Robert Matlock, all of Kalamazoo, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Frank Wilson on Sept. 18, 2006; one granddaughter, Cynthia Gamsjager; parents; and one brother, Harley Matlock. The funeral was held
at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, at First Church of the Nazarene in Ponca
City with the Rev. Larry Hall officiating. Committal services and interment
followed at Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk. Arrangements and services were
entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. |
