Albert Franklin Wilson OWASSO — Albert Franklin Wilson, longtime resident of Newkirk, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, in Owasso. He was 93. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at First Church of the Nazarene in Ponca City with the Rev. Larry Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. Albert Franklin Wilson was born Aug. 9, 1913, in Cushing, the son of Thomas Franklin and Mary Ethel Robinson Wilson. On Oct. 14, 1939, he married Vina Pearl Matlock in Cushing. They moved northwest where he worked as an electrician in the Oregon shipyards during World War II. They moved to Newkirk in 1947, where he was employed as a carpenter. He was a longtime member of First Church of the Nazarene in Ponca City. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. Survivors include his wife of the home; six children, Harold Wilson of Ponca City, Keith Wilson of Woodward, Jane Hess of Owasso, Bonnie Gamsjager of Yukon, Barbara Eslinger of Thornton, Colo., and Roy Wilson of Sand Springs; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nina Yardley of Portland, Texas. Casket bearers will
be the grandsons. |
