C. E. Whittenberg died at home in the south-east part of town late last evening of the prevailing disease of Doba itch or small pox, as it has been officially designated. This was the worst and only fatal case of the disease we have had in the town. Eight members of the Whittenberg families have had the disease with no attendant bad results and Mr. Whittenberg’s brothers say that his fatality was due to the fact that he had not fully recovered from an attack of the measles heretofore.
