GEORGE WALTERS KILLED

Prominent Farmer of Near Blackwell Meets Death in Woods

George Walters, a prominent and well-to-do farmer who lived six miles south of Blackwell, was killed Friday, in some manner unknown here, in Woods County where he was looking after his extensive cattle interests. Mr. Walters’ family was notified by wire of the killing but the telegram failed to state particulars and Ola Goodson and C.W. Dodd went out last night to bring the remains home and investigate the killing. He was about 65 years of age and was a good citizen.

Ola Goodson and C.W. Dodd brought the remains of George Walters in Sunday from Woods County and Rev. C. T. Radford conducted the funeral services this afternoon. It seems that Walters was killed by a horse. He lay down to sleep with the rope tied around his wrist and the horse became frightened and dragged him to death.
