OBITUARY.

Our community has once again been called upon to surrender one of its brightest and most promising lives. Sorrowing friends have paused on the swift journey of life to pay respect to the departed son of William and Callie Waldo. Like the country in which he lived was this young life fast developing into a strong and active manhood, when disease caught him and death claimed him on Saturday, Jan. 25, 1902. Lester Waldo was born in Whitney county, Indiana, July 14, 1884 where he spent his early childhood. His mother died when he was six years of age, leaving him to the care of father and sisters. Mr. Waldo came west at the opening of the strip and located near Blackwell with his son and two daughters who now mourn the loss of a brother as only kind and affectionate sisters can. Rev. E.C. Delaplain of the M.E. church of this city conducted the funeral services, and a host of friends, despite the extreme cold, assembled to pay their respects and blend their sympathies with the lonely father and sisters.
