Died – This morning at 7:00 o’clock, the five-year old daughter of Mr. And Mrs. M. Voris, of this city, of typhoid fever. She had been sick for about ten day.

OBITUARY

Elsie Fay Voris, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Al Voris, died at the family residence in this city, Monday of this week of typhoid-pneumonia after an illness of three weeks. The little one was four years six months and 14 days old, and was a bright and lovable child, an especial favorite with the family and acquaintances, and her death leaves an aching void in the hearts of those who loved her best. The funeral services were held Tuesday, conducted by Elder day, of the Christian church and Rev. Craighead of the Presbyterian church, and was attend by a number of sympathizing relatives and friends. W. S. Voris and family of Round Grove township, Mrs. J. W. McClintock and daughter Goldie, of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Cora Whitson of Winfield, Mrs. A. C. Tooms of Winfield, and Mrs. George Rickets of Newkirk, were the relatives from out of town who attended the services Mr. And Mrs. Voris have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends in their sad affliction.
Sadly we watched, the angels were calling
Our darling, our brightest and best,
Soft on her ear their sweet voices falling,
Saying, come home dear lamb, and rest.
Round her rosebud mouth there lingers
Still the peaceful smile she wore,
While across the shining river,
Gleamed the far-off golden shore.
Folded are the tiny fingers,
Dimmed the bright and laughing eyes,
For the spirit freed from earth land,
Soars to “Mansions in the skies.”
Thou art gone, dear Fay, to the land of light
For peace we turn to the holy Word,
‘Twas God who gave – He taketh away,
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
-Friend
