Cornelius Trump Dead

Cornelius Trump, one of our most respected citizens died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. C. Fyffe, last Friday night, after an illness of only three days. Mrs. Trump had been poorly for some time past, and had been staying at the home of her daughter, and Mr. Trump was back and forth between the two homes. He was taken in Tuesday night with an acute stomach or bowel trouble, and few even of his intimate friends knew of his illness until they heard of his death. The funeral was from his own home, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the service being conducted by Rev. G. W. McQuiday of the Christian church, and the music by the choir of the Presbyterian church of which Mr. Trump was a member. Three members of the G. A. R. post and three from the Woodmen acted as pall bearers. A large crowd of the sympathizing friends attended the services, both at the house and cemetery. Mr. Trump was a resident of Winfield, Kansas for about 25 years, and moved to this city some ten years ago. He had a host of friends to whom the announcement of his death came as a shock and who heartily sympathize with the family in their bereavement. The widow, the daughter, Mrs. C. C. Fyffe and son, Charles E. Trump, all five in this city.
