Obituary

Odell Thomas, who had been suffering with typhoid fever for the past two weeks, and whose death was reported several times on the street, finally passed away last Tuesday at 10 o’clock. His wife died three years ago and left him with six children, three boys and three girls, one of which is married and four lived with his father and brother and one remained with him.
He came from Sedalia, Mo. To Newkirk about two years ago and moved to Blackwell this spring and went into business here. He was quiet, gentlemanly and well liked by those who knew him. His remains were taken to Newkirk yesterday where funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church, after which he was laid to rest in the Newkirk Cemetery. His father, mother, brother and children arrived here from Cameron Mo. Before his death, his brother Joe, of Newkirk, attended him throughout his sickness. We join his many friends in sympathizing with the bereaved relatives.
