TETER DIED FRIDAY
M.S. Teter, an old
and respected citizen of Blackwell, 70 years old, died at his home at
419 East Oklahoma avenue at six o’clock Friday afternoon, after
an illness of eleven days from pneumonia, following an attack of grip
or influenza.
He was a civil war veteran, belonging to the Grand Army of the Republic,
and a member of the A. O. U. W., of Winfield, Kansas.
At the age of thirty he united with the Baptist church at Victor, Kansas,
transferring his membership to the First Baptist church of Blackwell four
years ago, when he moved here.
He leaves a wife, two sons, and four daughters to mourn the loss of a
loving husband and father. One son, P. S. Teter, preceded him last June.
The funeral was from the Baptist church at 11 a.m. Sunday, February 29,
and was attended by a large number of friends, who joined with the family
in the last respect to a good man. Rev. Howard of the local Baptist church,
conducted the services, and interment followed in I. O. O. F. cemetery.
