Betty
Lee Snider, former Ponca City resident, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at
St. Mary's Hospital in Enid. She was 80.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the First Christian
Church with the Rev. Larry Metzger, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Diana
Leaf, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial
Park under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.
Betty was born Feb. 7, 1925, in the Bressie Community, the daughter of
Mabel Larimer and Roscoe Wilson. She attended school in Bressie and Marland.
She married Jack A. Snider on Oct. 31, 1942, in Ponca City. He preceded
her in death on Nov. 29, 2000. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting,
crocheting, and reading. She was also preceded in death by her parents
and five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son, Melvin A. Snider and Christine Smith of Enid;
one daughter Cheryl Jane Moore and her husband the Rev. John M. Moore
of Eugene, Ore; four grandchildren, Hilary Snider Batterson and her husband
Mike of Broken Arrow, Heidi Moore of Portland, Ore., Stuart Moore and
his wife Judith Watkins of Corvallis, Ore., and Molly Moore Smith and
her husband Brad of Albuquerque, N.M.; great-grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth
Batterson of Broken Arrow and Ruby Eloise Moore of Corvallis, Ore.; one
sister, June Feronti and husband Joseph of West Melbourne, Fla.; one brother,
Johnie Wilson and wife Jennie of Edmond; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Snider was a life-long and active member of the First Christian Church
where memorial contributions will be accepted at First Christian Church,
210 N Fifth, Ponca City, Okla. 74601.
