SEBERN SMOCK DEAD

This Friday morning it is the painful duty of the News to chronicle the death of one of Newkirk’s brightest and most promising young men, Sebern Smock, son of Mr. And Mrs. S. J. Smock. Sebern passed peacefully away last night at 10:10, aged 21 years and nine months. He was an exemplary young man, loved and respected by all who knew him, and his death has cast a gloom over the entire county. Funeral services will be held at the congregational church tomorrow, Saturday, at 2 o’clock p.m. – Newkirk News.
Mr. Smock and family were former residents of Blackwell, and have many friends here who will sympathize with them in their great bereavement. Sebern was one of the most exemplary young men whom we have ever known. He was just entering upon his life’s career and his death is a great shock to family and friends.
