HERMAN SIECK DEAD AT CODY

John Sieck of 723 North B street, received the sad news Monday morning that his son, Herman Sieck had died of pneumonia at the base hospital at Camp Cody, near Deming, New Mexico. The message was signed by Shoof, Adjutant. A message was sent to Camp Cody, notifying Adjutant Shoof to hold the body until the arrival of Mr. Sieck, who left immediately to bring the remains to Blackwell. Herman Sieck left with other members of the Blackwell contingent to entrain at Newkirk, Sunday, Oct. 20. The News one day last week published a clipping from the El Paso, (Texas,) Times, describing the trip of the boys through New Mexico to their final destination. At one town they raised a purse and bought a burro, sold chances, the lucky number being awarded to Herman Sieck, by which he became the owner of the animal, which was donated to the correspondent of the Times. The fund obtained amounted to over a hundred dollars and was given to the Red Cross.
The funeral of Herman Sieck will be conducted by the local lodge of the Loyal Order of Moose, of which he was a member. - Daily News.
