OBITUARY

Mrs. Irene I. Shawver died at her home, 31 miles southeast of town, on Saturday night, Dec. 23rd at 10 p.m. with pneumonia, at the age of 43 years, 1 month and 13 days. Mrs. Shawver was born in Illinois, her maiden name being Irene Meegan. Moving with her parents to Old Boston, Chautauqua county, Kan. in 1872, and was married to M. F. Shawver August 31, 1884. She leaves a husband, 3 daughters and one son to mourn her loss. Mrs. Larkin and daughter of Moline., Kans. sister and niece of the deceased were present at the funeral which was conducted from the Prairieview church at 2 o’clock Christmas day. Father Dupee, of Blackwell, conducting the funeral after which the remains were laid to rest in the Prairieview cemetery. We wish to express our sympathy to the betrayed husband, three daughters and son and other friends in the depravation of their loved one.
