Gertrude Scott Dies At Edmond; Former Ponca City Teacher

Miss Gertrude Scott of Ponca City, retired elementary school
teacher, died Monday at Edmond Memorial Hospital. Graveside
service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery,
Oklahoma City, under the direction of Baggerly Funeral Home of
Edmond.
Born in Maryville, Mo., Miss Scott was a graduate of Central State
University, Edmond. She was a member of the First United Methodist
Church of Ponca City.
Miss Scott retired from the Ponca City School System in 1967 after
teaching here 30 years. She earlier had taught in Bartlesville, Sand
Springs and Arizona.
Survivors are five nieces, two nephews and her guardian, Mrs. Lillian
Parr, 825 Ayers, Edmond where Miss Scott made her home.
