Delpha Hendrick Schultz, Ponca City resident, died Thursday, March 11,
2010. She was 98.
The service will be graveside at 11 a.m. at Odd Fellow Cemetery on Saturday,
March 13, with Rev. Larry B. Metzger, pastor of First Christian Church,
officiating. The arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral
Home and Crematory.
Myra was born in Hunter on Aug. 8, 1911. She was the daughter of James
and Adrian Hunt Hendrick. She attended Hunter school and graduated in
1928. She attended Phillips University for two years and later graduated
in 1951 from A & M College in Stillwater with a Bachelor of Science
degree.
She married Cecil E. Schultz in Claremore on Oct. 25, 1931, and they made
their home in Ponca City from then on. They had one daughter, Kay Diane.
Mrs. Schultz was an elementary vocal music teacher. She taught for 30
years, 28 years of which were in Ponca City.
She was a member of Retired Teachers of Kay Co, OEA, Daughters of the
American Revolution, and Disciples of Christ First Christian Church.
Survivors include a grandson Greg Graham Mrazek of Texas, a nephew Gerry
Hendrick and his wife Marisha of Alva, a niece Pat Kimball and her husband
Larry of Kingfisher and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; daughter, Kay; brother,
Earl; and her parents.
