LOIS MARIE SCHMIDT Lois Marie Schmidt, a longtime Newkirk resident, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at the Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid. She was 65. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the chapel of Trout Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Thomason, First Baptist Church in Tonkawa, officiating. Burial will follow at the Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home. Lois was born June 7, 1940, to Art Hurst and Ethel Faye Hackler Hurst in Blackwell. She attended the Plainview and Consolidated 106 schools until attending Newkirk High School. She married Albert Victor Schmidt on June 20, 1955 in Newkirk. She then resided in Newkirk area where she raised three children and took care of the home. She was also secretary for her husband's business, Schmidt plumbing. Lois enjoyed painting ceramics, raising cats, and growing flowers, but most of all she loved to be around family and friends especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 50 years; three daughters, Debra Robinson and husband Robbie of Ponca City, Donna Fulsom of Newkirk and Vicki Schmidt of Ponca City; four grandchildren, Amber Hoover and her husband Abram, Crystal Robinson, Kiefer Fulsom and Shelby Schmidt; and a nephew, Dennis Strange of Arkansas City, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents. Casket bearers will be Kiefer Fulsom, Robbie Robinson, Abram Hoover, Dennis Strange, Jim Deakins and Leon Andrews. |
