DEATHS

Owen Savage, a son of J. A. Savage died at their home west of this city last Friday, and was buried Saturday. The boy was attacked with brain fever and spinal meningitis following measles and his condition was alarming from the first and death ensued in spite of the loving care of the parents, and the best medical skill of the physicians. The funeral was from the family residence, and was conducted by Rev. T. S. Hawley, of the Presbyterian church, and was attended by a large number of neighbors and friends. Owen was a most promising boy, and his death is a severe shock to the family and friends.
The following relatives from a distance came on Saturday to attend the funeral services of Owen Savage which was held at his home on Saturday afternoon; J. H. Curfman, grandfather; H. U. Frank and Albert Curfman, uncles; and Mrs. H. U. Curfman, all of Winfield; Isaac Curfman of Hunter; Frank Savage and wife of Eddy; also Mrs. Santee of Eddy, who is a sister of Mrs. Al Savage.


SAVAGE-Died, at 2 a.m., on Friday, July 10, 1908, Owen Alfred Savage, aged a little over 16 years. He was the second son of Al Salvage, the well known farmer who lives 2 ½ miles northwest of town, and the many friends of the family deeply sympathize with them in their hour of trouble. The deceased had been ill for some time and the immediate cause of his death was spinal meningitis and inflammation of the brain following an attack of the measles.

A large number of people attended the funeral of the late Owen Savage at the home of his father, Al Savage 2 ½ miles west of town. Rev. T.S Hawley of the Presbyterian church, preached the sermon, taking the place of Rev. E. B. Cole, who was unable to conduct the services.
