DEATHS Owen Savage, a son
of J. A. Savage died at their home west of this city last Friday, and
was buried Saturday. The boy was attacked with brain fever and spinal
meningitis following measles and his condition was alarming from the first
and death ensued in spite of the loving care of the parents, and the best
medical skill of the physicians. The funeral was from the family residence,
and was conducted by Rev. T. S. Hawley, of the Presbyterian church, and
was attended by a large number of neighbors and friends. Owen was a most
promising boy, and his death is a severe shock to the family and friends. SAVAGE-Died, at 2 a.m., on Friday, July 10, 1908, Owen Alfred Savage, aged a little over 16 years. He was the second son of Al Salvage, the well known farmer who lives 2 ½ miles northwest of town, and the many friends of the family deeply sympathize with them in their hour of trouble. The deceased had been ill for some time and the immediate cause of his death was spinal meningitis and inflammation of the brain following an attack of the measles. A large number of
people attended the funeral of the late Owen Savage at the home of his
father, Al Savage 2 ½ miles west of town. Rev. T.S Hawley of the
Presbyterian church, preached the sermon, taking the place of Rev. E.
B. Cole, who was unable to conduct the services.
