DEATH OF MRS. W. R. ROBERTSON A number of our readers
will remember Mr. & Mrs. W. R. Robertson, father and mother of Captain
F. H. Robertson, during their short residence in our city, and all hear
with regret of her death in Steamboat Rock Iowa, last week. She was born
in Monmouth Ill., May 6, 1839 and located in Aplington Iowa in 1856. Was
married to W. R. Robertson, Dec 10, 1863 and they in and near Steamboat
Rock until 1884, when they moved to Pratt Kans., living there until 1899
when they returned to Iowa. They came to Blackwell in October 1907, hoping
that this climate would be beneficial to her health. In March of this
year she had a severe attack of Lagrippe, and following it they went to
Iowa for a visit, returning here in July, but her health failing rapidly,
they again returned to Steamboat Iowa, to the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Willard Caldwell, and there she passed away, Sunday, Oct. 18, beloved,
not only by relatives who gave her of their time until themselves stricken,
but by friends, and neighbors of nearly a lifetime. The friends here most
sincerely sympathize with the bereaved ones.
