Mrs.
E.A. Richards Dead.
A.H. Hubbs was called to the bedside of his daughter, Mrs. E.A. Richards,
at Guthrie Monday evening. He left Tonkawa Tuesday morning and Tuesday
evening the sad news was flashed across the wires: “I reached her
too late. Mertie is dead.” This will be a sad blow to her large
circle of friends and relatives at this place. This had been her home
ever since the opening of the strip until last autumn, when they moved
to Guthrie. To the bereaved husband, father and brother it seems sad beyond
belief that one so young should be so suddenly taken; hard to realize
that “whatever may befall us, Jesus doeth all things well.”
The remains were taken to Juda Springs Wednesday and buried by the side
of her mother.
