Tonkawa Chief Dead

La Mar Richards, chief of the Tonkawa tribe, died last Friday at his home on the reservation, two miles east of town. He was about 36 years of age and was an especial favorite, not only among Indians, but with everyone who knew him. La Mar was conspicuous because of his enormous weight, having been weighed only a short time before his death by Frank Crawford, who says his exact weight at that time was 325 pounds.
