MYSTERY AT DEER CREEK

C.Plummer, of Cherryvale, Kans., passed through the city on his way to Deer Creek, where he went to attend the funeral of his brother, H. H. Plummer, who lived with his wife a half mile southwest of Deer Creek.
The deceased was about 66 years old, and his wife and a niece constituted the family, the children being all married and away from home. On Sunday the niece went to church, leaving the old man and his wife alone. Upon her return she went into the barn and there found the old man dead, hanging by his neck, with his hands tied behind him. Whether it was suicide or murder is not known. - Tuesday’s Daily News
