DEL CITY Kenneth Odell Pittman was born on February 2, 1930 to Charles
Lee and Virginia Frances (Culpepper) Pittman, in Kaw City, Oklahoma, and
went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 13, 2011. He graduated
from Kaw City HS in 1948, attended OK A&M one year, then joined the
U.S. Air Force, where he served four years. He graduated from OBU in 1958,
receiving his B.S. in Business. He retired from Tinker AFB in 1985, after
30 years of service. He then served as a minister at First Southern Baptist
Church until present. He accepted Christ in 1952 and was very passionate
about sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone. He is survived
by his wife of 60 years, Alice Irene Pittman of the home; four children:
J. Michael Pittman & wife Paula, Cindy Smith & husband Steve,
Jeanette Burkhart & husband Keith, all of Choctaw; and Linda Patrick
of OKC; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three siblings: Jewell
D. Dewsnup of Live Oak, CA; Charles L. Pittman, Jr. & wife Annette
of Ponca City; and Mildred E. "Millie" & husband Jay Stafford
of Ponca City; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings, Van D. Pittman,
Orval Lee Pittman, Jeraldine Miller, and Mary Jo Pittman; niece, Carol
Ann Cheney; and great-nephew, Scott Sterger. Funeral Services are 2 p.m.,
Wed., Nov. 16th, at First Southern Baptist, 6400 S. Sooner Rd., OKC. Interment
will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Visitation will be Tues., Nov. 15th,
from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., at John M. Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway
in Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for Kenneth Pittman may
be made to First Southern Baptist Church for world missions.
