Velma Mae Page NEWKIRK — Velma Mae Page, longtime Newkirk area resident, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at Newkirk Nursing Center. She was 93. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Newkirk Cemetery with the Rev. Kerney Graham officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service. There will be no public viewing at any time. Velma Mae Page was born Sept. 18, 1913, near Rock, Kan., the daughter of Frank and Clara Mae Weidman Morrell She grew up in the Rock and Winfield, Kan., areas and received her education in a rural school and Arkansas City High School. On Aug. 14, 1941, she married Leslie Dewey Page in Newkirk, and lived on a farm northeast of Newkirk their entire married life. She lived there until 1992 when she moved to Arkansas City. A year later she returned to Newkirk and made her home in Elmwood Homes. She entered Newkirk Nursing Center in January. A member of the First Christian Church, she enjoyed gardening, crafts and cats. Survivors include a son, Leslie D. of Blackwell; and one sister, Clara Houston of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. She was preceded in
