OBITUARY

Thos. V. Ogden, Sr. died at his home in Sumner county last Saturday afternoon, and was buried in the Cozine cemetery near Corbin, on Sabbath day. Mr. Ogden was born in Ohio in 1822, and came to Kansas in 1871, moving to Sumner county in 1872. His wife Sarah Ogden, died in March of this year at the advanced age of 80. The funeral was held at the house and the services were attended by many of the friends and neighbors, who assembled to pay their respects to the memory of their old friend and neighbor, who was always foremost as a man and citizen seven sons and one daughter survive, one of whom Thos. V. Ogden, of Rock Falls township, is one of Kay county’s best citizens. The deceased had an extensive acquaintance in this county, and the many friends will join with this paper in sympathy to Mr. Ogden and family.
