Died: -- Day Robert McMaster, at Rock Falls, February 7, 1897 at 12:50 a.m. aged 6 years, four months 24 days, of typhoid pneumonia fever. The youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. D., McMaster. In vain did those who loved him so well strive to keep back that dread visitor death. But it came and claimed this bright jewel. Weak are our efforts to soothe the parents bleeding hearts, who looked on him as the solace and staff of their old age, when he would reach manhood days, but alas! Like most of Earth's fairest treasures, and he faded away from their fond embrace.
Go to thy rest my child. Go to thy dreamless bed.
Gentle and undealed with blessings on the head.
Ere sin might wound the breast, or sorrow wake the tear.
Rise to the home of rest in on celestial sphere.
Shall love with weak embrace thy heavenward flight detain?
No Angel, seek thy place—amid yon cherub train.
