Ricky Joe McCullough

NEWKIRK — Ricky Joe McCullough, Kay County resident, died July 30, 2006, in Newkirk. He was 47.

Funeral service has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in Miller-Stahl Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tara Foos, minister of Prairie Chapel Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will take place at a later time in the Newkirk Cemetery. The casket will not be opened at any time. Miller-Stahl Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Ricky Joe McCullough was born May 26, 1959, in Ponca City, the son of Loyal Nelson and Margie Mae (Moreland) McCullough. He grew up and received his education in Ponca City, graduating from PCHS in 1977. He then attended college at Miami, Okla on a rodeo scholarship. While there he was part of a rodeo team.

After college he drove a truck for Oklahoma Tank in Ponca City for seven years. He also drove trucks for several people in the area. He worked in carpentry and was involved with the clean up in Louisiana following the hurricane.

He was a member of Prairie Chapel Methodist Church. He enjoyed rodeos and music.

He is survived by three nephews, Dean McCullough of Ponca City, Tim McCullough of Arkansas, and Loyal Jackson of Colorado; and three nieces, Gaytha Sebor of Ponca City, Kathy Stewart and Maxine Stigley, both of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack and Bob; and two sisters, Patricia and Loetta.
