J. C. McAdams Dead

J.C. McAdams formerly a resident of this part of the country and well known to a number of our citizens, dies at his home in Kaw City. Monday of this week and was buried in the cemetery south of Blackwell Wednesday afternoon. Mr. McAdams was convalescing from a spell of typhoid fever and suffered a relapse, death following. The body was brought here Wednesday morning and the funeral was from the Methodist church that afternoon. The Masonic lodge of this city as listed in the services and the funeral was attended by a large number of friends. Mr. McAdams was a son-in-law of W. P. Carmichael and for years lived north of town, moving from here to Lawton and the back to Kaw City, this county. He was a splendid young man and his many friends heartily sympathize with the bereaved families.


McAdam – On Monday night, Sept. 24, occurred the death of Cory McAdam, residing at Kaw City. For sometime he has been seriously ill with typhoid fever, and Monday night William P. Carmichael, his father-in-law, received news of his death. Mr. And Mrs. Carmichael went to help arrange for the funeral services. Mr. McAdam formerly lived on a farm near Blackwell, but a short time ago moved to Kaw City to engage in the furniture business. He leaves a wife and three children.
The body of Cory McAdam, accompanied by the family and relatives arrived Wednesday on the Frisco. Having belonged to the Masons, his body was taken in charge by that order and taken to the M. E. church, where the funeral services were held at 2 o’clock this afternoon Rev. Botkin officiated, the pastor being absent. The body was taken to the Odd Fellows cemetery for burial. Mrs. McAdam is very low with typhoid at the present time, and was not able to come to attend the services.
