Arthur J. Morgan committed suicide at Alva, Friday morning in the Santa Fe depot, by shooting himself. No cause for the suicide has been assigned. Arthur Morgan formerly lived at Newkirk and was a stepson of Judge J. F. King at Newkirk. During the American Spanish war he was a volunteer in the American army. After the close of the war he returned to Oklahoma and entered the services of the Santa Fe.
He was a clerk in the depot at Alva and just before daylight Friday morning he sat down by the stove, drew a revolver from his pocket, placed the muzzle of the weapon against his juggler vain, fired, and fell forward upon the floor dead.
