J. M. Mewhinney Dead J. M. Mewhinney departed this life Wednesday May 21, at his home in this city, and was buried in I. O. O. F. cemetery south of town Friday afternoon. The funeral was from the Presbyterian church, at 2 p. m. May 23, the services being conducted by Rev. T. S. Hawley of that church. Mr. Mewhinney was born at Brookville Ind, on March 2, 1851, and lived in Kansas from 1855 to 1897, when he moved to Oklahoma, and made it his home until the time of his death. Mr. Mewhinney was married, July 3, 1904 to Mrs. Shields and she survives him. MEWHINNEY-Died, May 21, 1908, of tuberculosis, J. M. Mewhinney, at his rooms in the Millard block. He was born in Brookville, Ind., March 2, 1851, and came with the family to Ottawa, Kas, in 1855, where he resided until 1898. He was married on July 3, 1904. To Mrs. Shields, who survives him. They came to Blackwell about ten years ago, and Mr. Mewhinney has been sick most of the past year. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church on May 22, conducted by Rev. T. B. Hawley, Mrs. Mewhinney desires to express sincere thanks to all who extended aid and sympathy in her time of trouble.
