Died

Monday, C. B. Bowker received a telegram announcing the death of Charles Martindale at Colorado Springs, Colo., where he had gone some three years ago in quest of a cure for that dread malady, consumption. Mr. Martindale was an Odd Fellow and probably buried by that order in Colo. Springs. He was one of the most widely known and highly esteemed of Tonkawa’s citizens. He made the race for a claim, securing one near town, which he sold to Mr. Fowler. He also engaged in the Mercantile business here building up a very lucrative trade that he was forced to part with when he went west. He leaves a wife and 2 children along with a myriad of friends to mourn his death.
