Robert A. Martin, son of R. M Martin, died at his home near this city, October 8, 1894. The deceased was in his 26 year period. His death was caused by typhoid fever, which has confined him to his bed for three weeks. He became a member of the Methodist Church of this city a few weeks ago and had his life been spared, would have made a valuable worker for the church. A large number of people from the city attended the funeral services at the residence. The Blackwell lodge A.O. U. W., of which the father of the deceased is a member, attended in a body. Our citizens extend their hearty sympathy to the bereaved parents. The following resolutions were adopted by the lodge of A. O. U. W.
Blackwell Lodge No 22, A. O. U. W., Blackwell, O. T., October 8, 1894
whereas on the eighth day of October 1894. It has pleased the great ruler of the universe to call from his home, inclined loving parents, brothers, sisters, in friends; Robert A. this said of our worthy and esteemed brother R. M. Martin. Therefore be it resolve to that in this act of divine Providence are large recognizes the great loss to our brother and family of a kind and loving son. Resolve, that the sympathy of Blackwell lodge No 22. be extended to brother R. M. Martin and family; and by his death. Let us all be mindful of the uncertainty of life, and let our lives be such that, when our father calls we may be prepared to follow him to that haven of rest. Resolved that these resolutions be spread in full upon the minutes of the lodge, be published in the Blackwell papers and a copy be sent to brother Martin and family. J. W. Chambers, G. A.
