A Sad Accident

Mrs. M. J. Lusk, who lives five miles east of Wellington Kans, was fatally burned Thursday afternoon of this weekend and died Tuesday morning . She and her husband were burning some trash in the yard, he had stepped into the barn on an errand and hearing her scream ran out to find her enveloped in flame, he grabbed a gunny sack and the children hurriedly brought quilts, but she was severely burned before the fire was put out. Everything possible was done to relieve her suffering and save her life but to no avail as she died early the next morning. A strong gust of wind drove the fire against the lower part of her dress and she was ablaze before she realized her danger. Mrs. Lusk leaves a husband and five children. She was a sister of John S. Burger of this city who was summoned immediately after the accident. Mr. Burger remained up after the funeral which was held from the residence Wednesday morning.
