LOVE – Mrs. Phoebe Alvira Love, wife of Jeremiah Love, died at her home six miles southwest of Blackwell on Monday, aged about 66 years. She had been an invalid about ten years, paralysis being the principal cause. The funeral services were held at the residence on Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Isom Roberts, interment in the Odd Fellows cemetery south of town.

LOVE – Mrs. Phoebe Alvira Love was born in New London, Huron county, Ohio, June 19, 1840, and died at her home six miles southwest of Blackwell April 9, 1906. She had been an invalid for a number of years, the last of which she was afflicted with paralysis, which was the immediate cause of her death. She was married to Jeremiah Love on January 25, 1858, and two sons and two daughters constitute their family of children. These are all married and their names and residences are as follows:
George, near Blackwell, Okla.
Frank, near Braman, Okla.
Mrs. Inez McCartney, Portland, Kans.
Mrs. Emma Hinkle, Portland, Kans.
There are thirteen grandchildren. These with the bereaved husband are left to mourn the loss of a bosom companion and dear mother.
Mrs. Love was a member of the Christian church, having united with it some thirty years ago at Huron, Brown county, Kansas. Her illness the past ten years has prevented her attendance at church since their coming to Oklahoma, two years after the opening of the strip.
Mrs. Love was admired for her many good qualities by all who enjoyed her acquaintance, and her death is greatly regretted.
Her life was characterized by that simplicity and earnestness common in the earlier history of our country. She had no desire to make a display, but believed in honesty and uprightness in every way.
The funeral services were held at the farm residence on April 10 at 2 p.m., and was conducted by Elder Isom Roberts, pastor of the Christian church of Blackwell. A large number of friends were present to pay their last respects to this departed sister. She died in the faith and has gone, no doubt, to her home on high. “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have a right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” I.R.
