Virginia C. Laughrey

Virginia C. Laughrey, resident of Ponca City, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 4, 2002 at her home. She was 70 years of age.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 2002 at Grace Memorial Chapel.

Virginia C. Laughrey was born Sept. 22, 1931 at Stet, Mo., the daughter of Buford Allen Hale and Edna (Glazebrook) Hale. Mrs. Laughrey lived several years in the Grainola, Okla., community before moving to Ponca City in 1991. She was married to Ray Laughrey on March 15, 1991 at Miami, Okla. She was employed as an operating room technician at the Fairfax Hospital. She was a member of the Ponca City bowling league and the Ponca Playhouse. Her enjoyments included bowling, reading, gardening, crafts, birds and canning.

She is survived by her husband, Ray, of the home; one son, Lynn Wilson, Ponca City, two daughters, Connie Graham and husband, Larry, Arkansas City, Kan., and Diana Brien and husband, Leo, Ponca City; one brother, Charles Hale, Enid, and one sister, Maxine Wormsley, Harrisonville, Mo.; seven grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Nolte and stepfather, Henry Nolte, two daughters, Catherine and Sharon.
