DIED
- Dollie Lamkin
Miss Dollie Lamkin
died at the St. Francis hospital, Wichita, Kansas, May 15, 1904, and was
buried at Wellington, Kansas May 16, 1904 She was 16 years and 2 months
old.
After an illness of almost two months death claimed one of the brightest
girls of our community, Her’s was a nature of strong feelings and
loving works. The writer has known her for years and from childhood to
womanhood she had, been a power for good among her associates. She first
took the measles, then complications set in and after intense suffering
an operation was necessary. She rallied from the first and appeared to
being doing well, but alas, her case was beyond human skill. The physicians
advised another operation and one week from the day she died she was taken
to the hospital at Wichita and there were two more operations. She failed
to rally from the last one and on Sunday morning she breathed her last.
She was fully conscious to the last and when she knew she was to go she
said, “I am prepared to go “ and who knows but that those
words are now a balm to her stricken loved ones. She leaves a father,
mother and two brothers to mourn the loss of a loving daughter and devoted
sister.
