Arleigh Lambert

Arleigh Lambert died at the home of his parents, Mr. And Mrs. T. A. Lambert, in this city, this Thursday morning at 2 o’clock of brain fever, following pneumonia. Arleigh was a most estimable young man, and during his residence in this city made many warm personal friends. He quit work as a messenger boy for the Western Union to accept a position on the Post office bookstand, and many of the patrons of that store will recall his courteous manner and accommodating disposition. He has never been a very sturdy boy and his ambition for work has always been greater than his physical ability. He was attacked with pneumonia immediately after the holidays and last Friday was able to be out, having successfully passed through a siege of that dread disease. Saturday he was down town for a short time and met many friends and acquaintances. Saturday evening he complained of not feeling very well and was subject to vomiting spells, and the doctor was summoned and left some medicine, but he got no better and before midnight was unconscious and suffering intense pain in his head. He at times rallied and regained consciousness, but the end was inevitable and early this morning the tired frame was relieved of its suffering and the soul returned to its maker. The funeral will be held in the Christian church tomorrow, Friday morning, at 11 o’clock, and the interment will follow in the Odd Fellows’ cemetery. The Times-Record joins with the friends of the family in sincere sympathy.
