WILLIAM KORT DEAD

Wm Kort died at his home two miles south and one mile east of Blackwell Tuesday morning. Last Sunday evening he was assisting his twin brother in lifting a corn Sheller in a shed on his farm, when he suddenly complained of a sever pain in his head and said that he had hurt himself lifting. He immediately went to the house and laid down; when called to supper in the evening he said he did not care for anything to eat, and shortly afterward undressed and went to bed, he did not complain during the night, but when called to get up the next morning he started to get up and fell back unconscious, and never regained consciousness. Dr. Lowery was called Monday morning who upon examination found he had ruptured a blood vessel in his brain. Mr. Kort came to Oklahoma and secured his present home at the opening of this country to settlement.
He was highly esteemed by his neighbors and friends and all who knew him. He was a member of the A.O.U.W. lodge of this city which order attended his funeral in a body, the funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. C. Delplain at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. He leaves a wife and four children; besides his twin brother Oscar, who has made his home with him, and the two have been almost inseparable. They resemble each other so closely that a stranger could not tell them apart. He was interred in the I.O.O.F. cemetery and was followed to his last resting place by a large concourse of friends.
