FRED KIRK DEAD

Fred Kirk the only son of Mrs. S. A. Kirk, died at the family residence on West Blackwell avenue, Monday afternoon, between four and five o’clock. Fred has been making a manful fight against consumption for several years, and only in the past two or three months has the case seemed hopeless. It is the second of Mrs. Kirks sons to go a victim of consumption, and she and the two sisters have the sympathy of their many friends in their great sorrow. The funeral was held from the Methodist church at 10 o’clock, Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. E. B. Cole, pastor of that church, and was attended by a large crowd of sympathizing friends and neighbors. The funeral sermon was practical and helpful, and the music by the church choir was beautiful and impressive. The interment was in the Odd Fellows cemetery south of the city.
