OBITUARY

Mrs. Dora E. Riggs was born in Illinois May 7, 1869. She left that state with her parents at a very early age and came to Brock, Nebraska, where she resided until about the age of fourteen. In 1881 she came with her parents to Republic County, Kansas, residing near Bellevile, at which place she met, and later, on Dec. 23, 1885, was married to Allison B. Johnson. In after years their home was brightened by the presence of their three children, Fanchon, Muri and Dee, whose ages now are respectively 15, 10 and 4 years.
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Johnson had been falling in health for nearly a year and last fall spent several weeks in Parsons, Kans., under the care of physicians at that place. She returned home feeling no better and shortly afterward she was taken to Albuquerque, N. M., at which place she quietly passed from all earthly presence Monday, Dec 21, 1903.
The body was brought back to Peckham Dec 23, and laid to rest in the Newkirk cemetery, Saturday, Dec. 26, 1903. With the passing away of her presence, there is felt the loss of a kind and loving wife, a tender an devoted mother, a kindly and gracious neighbor, a true, trustworthy, spiritual and Nobel friend. She was a member of the M. E. church and lived a Nobel and conscientious example of a Christian life. [The Leader - Peckham ran this same article]
