Lena Mae Spear Irons

Lena Mae Spear Irons will be interred on Memorial Day, May 25, in the Ponca City Cemetery.
Lena Mae died April 22, 2009, at the age of 91 years, both beginning and ending her life in Kay County. A Ponca City resident prior to 1941, she was the second of four children to George Marion Spear and Lena May Harris.
Both her husband, Lymon Irons, and daughter, Angele Primmer, predeceased her.
Surviving are sister-in-law, Angeline Pruitt, and guardian, Cherie Mattics of Ponca City; and two nieces, Doris Shoemaker and Ann Murray of Norman.
A love of antiques, history and animals fueled Lena Mae's pursuits. Stray animals found care from Lena Mae's loving hands. She was a direct descendant of Gov. William Bradford of the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts and a member of The Mayflower Society. She enjoyed family research and served as an officer for the local genealogical society in earlier years.
