OBITUARY.

Mrs. Catherine Hughes died at her home in this place on Sunday night, March 9, 1902, aged about 60 years. She was born in Wales and came to this country a number of years ago, living with her family for a number of years at Osage City, Kansas, where her husband died about 22 years ago, one daughter also preceded her to the spirit world. There are four living children. For some time her health has been very poor and with the hope of recuperating the same, seven months more were recently spent at Elpaso, Texas and Las Vegas, New Mexico, with very little if any benefit accruing. Mrs. Hughes was a highly respected lady. Brief funeral services were held from the family residence on Monday afternoon when the remains were taken to Deer Creek and shipped to Osage City, Kansas for interment.-Lamont Dispatch
