Obituary

Cynthia A. Toole was born in Owen county, Kentucky, November 25, 1843 and died November 6, 1906, being 62 years, 11 months and 19 days old. She was married in 1864 to David A. Clifton of which union one son, David A. Clifton of Glencoe, Kentucky was born. Owing to himself being sick with fever he was unable to reach the bedside of his mother.
After widowhood of seven years she was united in marriage to Nathan Hudson on April 22, 1872. Five children blessed this union, the two elder ones dying in infancy, the surviving ones are L. N. Hudson of this city; J. W. Hudson of Florence, Kans., and Mrs. Mary E. Wells of Newton, Kans. She was converted early in life and united with the Methodist church. In 1886, having removed from the east to a new home in the west, she transferred her membership from the Methodist to the United Brethern church of Summit township, Marion county, Kans., as no church of her profession was near her. She held a letter of dismal from this church.
Frail in physique, her life was very largely filled with physical suffering, but her unwavering faith ever up held her. Her beautiful consistent christian life will ever remain a fragrant memory to her relatives and the friends who knew her. She is one indeed whom the Master thought when He said, "She hath done what she could."
Funeral conducted at her late home at 2 o'clock Wednesday, Nov. 7th, by the writer. Burial at the city cemetery.


HUDSON- Died, Nov. 6, 1906, at her home in this city, Mrs. Nathan Hudson, aged about 63 years. The funeral services were conductd on Nov. 7 at her home, Rev E. M. Beauchamp of the U.B. church conducting the services, burial taking place in the Odd Fellows cemetery south of town. Cynthia A. Toole was born in Owen county, Kentucky, Nov. 25, 1843. After a widowhood of seven years, Mrs. Clifton was married in 1872 to Nathan Hudson, and five children blessed their union, the surviving ones being J.W. Hudson of Florence, Kas., and Mrs. Mary E. Well of Newton, Kas., Mrs. Hudson was converted early in life and united with the Methodist church in Marion county, Kansas. Frail in physique, her life was largely one of suffering, which she calmly bore with Christian fortitude, and her character will ever remain a fragrant memory to her loved ones and her many friends
