HUBBARD- Died, at Seiling, Okla., Sept. 6, 1907, Jason Hubbard, son of
J.S. Hubbard of Blackwell. The deceased formerly lived in this city and
was well and favorably known, having spent many years of his life with
his parents in this vicinity. He went to Dewey county last fall to make
his home on a farm, but died on the above date as a result of injuries
caused by his team running away. The Selling Guide says: "Jason Hubbard
was born in Cowley county, Kansas, Sept.11, 1880, and died at his home
near Seiling on Sept. 6, 1907, after a few days illness caused by his
team running away and throwing him under the wheels. Deceased moved to
Oklahoma in 1893, but has only lived in Dewey county since last fall.
On Sept. 16, 1902, he was united in marriage to Miss Stella Hodges. This
union was blessed with two little babes, a boy and a girl. He was not
a member of any church, but his friends testify to his Christian character
and cherish the hope that he rested safely in the atonement of Jesus Christ.
His cheerful, helpful life, his devotion as a husband and father, his
kindness to everybody, will long linger as a fragrant memory in the home
which his presence brightened and which death has now darkened. He leaves
the wife and two children, four sisters, three brothers, an aged father,
and hosts of friends to mourn his untimely death. Funeral services were
held in the Friends Tabernacle Saturday and the remains tenderly laid
to rest in the Seiling cemetery. To the broken hearted wife, children,
father, sisters and brothers who sit in sorrow where his footsteps shall
never again find echo, we extend the sympathy of one who loved him as
a brother. |
