For some months he had not been feeling well, but had only been confined to the house for a couple of weeks. Not until last Thursday afternoon did he seem to be in any immediate danger. At that time a change for the worse took place and death resulted in less than three days. He was born in Utica, Davidson county, Kentucky, Jan. 22, 1857. He came to Blackwell soon after the strip opened and has made this his home ever since, He was married Feb. 17, 1881. to Miss Nannie Burns. Two children were born to them; Mrs. Effie Bierd, whose home is in Kentucky, and Miss Mable, both of whom he leaves to mourn his death. The funeral was held at his home at 9 o’clock Monday morning, Rev. Barrier officiation. The body was taken to Owensboro, Kentucky, for interment.
