Ray Walter Honick BLACKWELL — Ray Walter Honick, resident of Blackwell, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, in Blackwell Regional Hospital. He was 93. The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in the chapel of Roberts and Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Newkirk Cemetery. Ray Walter Honick was born April 18, 1912, on a farm southeast of Braman, the son of Albert and Essie Shook Honick. He grew up on the farm where he was born and attended Pleasant School before graduating Braman High School in 1932. On April 9, 1932, he married Dollie Genevieve Babcock in Winfield, Kan., and they settled near southeast Braman . He worked for Blackwell Zinc Company as a yardman for 19 years and retired from his farming operation in 1988. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. Survivors include a daughter, Lura White of Braman; a son, Clifford L. Honick of Newkirk; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; and other relative. He was preceded in death by his wife Dec. 7, 1998; his parents; a son, Wesley W, Honick; two sisters, Gladys Honick and Mayme Gillespie Fletcher; and a brother, Cecil Honick. Casket bearers will be Micah Honick, Nathan Honick, Jesse Honick, Mark Ortwein, Chase Kelly, Christopher White and Brian White. Honorary bearers will be Brandi Taylor, Sally Ortwein, Sarah Honick, Bethany Honick, Aubrey Kelly and Megan Perry. Memorial contributions
