C.Thomas Hill Jr., M.D.

C.Thomas Hill Jr., M.D., Ponca City resident, died Sunday, July 29, 2007. He was 87.

Entombment will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, in the Ponca City Mausoleum located in the Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Mallory officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

C.Thomas Hill Jr., M.D. was born Oct. 23, 1919, in Cornith, Miss. He graduated from the University of Mississippi and the University of Tennessee School of Medicine. He served in the Army Air Corps as a pilot and during World War II flew transports between England and the U.S.

After the war, he flew for American Airlines and finished medical school. He was then a fellow in radiology and nuclear medicine at the University of Texas South Western School of Medicine.

Dr. Hill practiced radiology in New Mexico until he retired in Ponca City.

Survivors include his nieces, Diane Boone and Virginia Jones, and nephews, Dr. Julian B. Hill Jr. and David H. Davis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Palmer Landrum.
