HICKS- Died, at his son's home five miles west of Blackwell, Aug. 27,
1907 at 5:30 o'clock p.m., R.S. Hicks, aged 75 years, 5 months, and three
days. Funeral services at the residence at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning,
conducted by Rev. Morgan. His remains were taken to Inman, Kas, for interment.
Mr. Hicks was born in Cameron county, Pennsylvania in 1832 and moved to
Kansas 23 years ago. The immediate cause of death was heart failure, due
to heart disease of long withstanding. He leaves one son and two daughters
as follows: James A. Hicks, Blackwell; Mrs. P.C. Boyce, Blackwell; Mrs.
J.W. Hall, Inman, Kansas.
