It becomes our painful duty to chronicle the death of J. W. Henthorne, the bright, talented editor of the Blackwell Eagle, which occurred at his home in Winfield yesterday. He was only sick a few days with typhoid malaria, and his death was a shock to all who knew him here. We with his many friends mourn his untimely departure from this life, and deeply regret that he was unable to realize the hopes and inspirations which he had in and for this city. Though it has not been our good fortune to meet Mr. Henthorne, he not having come among us as a resident yet. It is almost the same as to know him to read his paper, and we feel in his death a great loss to the fraternity. And as a brother takes stand to his sorrowing relatives our heartfelt sympathies in this their hour of grief.
